Marvin & Tige
By Fran Glass
Once a successful advertising sales rep, Marvin Stewart is now a part-time handyman with a mild drinking problem. Tige Jackson is an impoverished 11-year-old living on the streets of Atlanta, reeling from a personal tragedy. Drawn together out of compassion and necessity, they forge a rocky and unexpected bond.
About the Author
Fran Glass
Frankcina “Fran” Glass was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Her interest in writing began in high school while studying English literature, being tasked with reading classic novels and writing short stories. She wrote Marvin and Tige when she was 19 and felt it was good enough to be published. Fortunately, it reached the desk of an editor who felt the same.
The first edition of Marvin & Tige was published in 1977. It earned the author the Coretta Scott King Book Award for Excellence in Creative Writing. It also became a movie starring John Cassavetes, Gibran Brown, and Billy Dee Williams.
The novel, out of print for decades, has been updated with new content and released in digital and paperback formats.
